SUMMARY:10 Days of Connection: Miami Story Exchange
DESCRIPTION:What is a story exchange? This is an opportunity to exchange personal anecdotes with others and connect deeply. We’ll ask you to sit with a stranger\, tell your story\, then listen to theirs. We will reconvene as a group and each participant will retell their partner’s story in the first person. At the end of the program\, you’ll have an opportunity to reflect on your experience and record your story in our Miami Stories Recording Booth (this is optional). \n\n\n\nWe will be sharing stories about Miami! Take a look at your photos (either physical copies or on your smartphone) and choose a photo that captures a Miami-specific story. During the workshop\, you’ll be asked to share this photo and why it’s meaningful. Here are some prompts to guide you: \n\n\n\n-     Share a photo of a childhood memory in Miami \n\n\n\n-     Share a photo of when you first arrived in Miami \n\n\n\n-     Share a photo of your favorite place in Miami \n\n\n\n-     Share a photo that feels uniquely Miami \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nCapacity is limited and registration is required. \n\n\n\nRegister here\n\n\n\nThis Connection Event is organized by the museum’s Miami Stories initiative. The Miami Stories initiative collects stories about Miami’s past\, present\, and future. Through this oral history project\, HistoryMiami Museum documents life in the Magic City through both written submissions and audio recordings\, which are preserved in the museum’s archive\, and shared online and through local media outlets.
