Cultural Encounter: Inside Sacred Steel with The Lee Boys

Experience the gospel music tradition of sacred steel during this one-of-a-kind program with The Lee Boys, one of America’s most celebrated sacred steel ensembles. Go back to where it all began at the House of God Church in Perrine, FL where this family of musicians grew up and where their father and grandfather performed this tradition. The Lee Boys went from playing in church services to thrilling audiences around the world with their sacred sounds which feature lap and pedal steel guitars, a type of guitar played with a bar or slide called a “steel.” During this special program, they will share their experiences growing up and playing music in the church, answer questions from the audience, and close out the program with an intimate performance. You don’t want to miss this opportunity to connect with these local legends!
