Discover the fascinating history of one of Miami’s original settlements, Cocoanut Grove, as you stroll down its shady streets with HistoryMiami Museum’s Resident Historian, Dr. Paul George. Learn how Bahamian settlers influenced the development of the Grove with their knowledge of tropical plants and native building materials. Reflect upon the legacy of the neighborhood’s early residents, including E. W. F. Stirrup and Mariah Brown.

For over three decades, HistoryMiami Museum’s Resident Historian Dr. Paul George has toured his way to local, national, and international acclaim with his continuing series of historic tours. As a South Florida native, author, and former college professor, Dr. George has gained fame for his uncanny ability to recall the most impressive details about the people and places that make South Florida so unique.
