Member Event: A Presentation and Book Signing Everglades National Park, Its 75- Year History With Co-Authors Dr. James A. Kushlan and Kirsten Hines

HistoryMiami Museum, The Everglades Foundation and Everglades National Park invite HMM members and special guests to a conversation and book signing with James A. Kushlan and Kirsten Hines.

James A. Kushlan is a writer, biologist, educator, and conservationist. His professional positions have included those of director of the Patuxent Wildlife Research Center, research associate of the Smithsonian Institution, professor of biology at the University of Mississippi and Texas A&M, Commerce, and wildlife biologist U.S. National Park Service. As a conservation advocate, he has engaged internationally and nationally in multiple conservation initiatives and currently serves on the Board of The Everglades Foundation. He holds a PhD from the University of Miami and two honorary doctorates.

Kirsten Hines is an award-winning author and wildlife photographer with a master’s degree in biology and a background in environmental education. Her writing and photography have appeared in several publications, including six books on Florida’s nature and history. Kirsten’s images have also been featured in numerous photography showcases, public art programs, and both solo and juried group exhibitions. She lectures and conducts workshops on wildlife, gardening, travel and photography. Learn more at www.KirstenHines.com.
