Celebrate spooky season with a visit to Miami City Cemetery! Families are invited to meet Julia Tuttle and early notable Miamians as you engage with history. Hear stories of how the Magic City came to be and of the people who helped shape this community.

Curated for families with children ages 7 and up. All are welcome to come as you are or in costume.*

*Costumes and some costume masks may be worn; masks must provide unobstructed peripheral vision at all times with openings that allow the eyes to be fully seen. Costumes must be family-friendly. Costumes may not contain sharp objects, pointed objects or materials that may accidentally strike another Guest.

Ingrid E. Argueta
Coordinator of Education Programs and Community Engagement

Ingrid E. Argueta was born in Guatemala and immigrated to Miami when she was 7 years old. Although not a native Miamian, she is a 305-er at heart. Ingrid has remained true to her indigenous roots and is passionate about Native American history and culture. She is best known for her eco-history tours of Miami’s historic sites, neighborhoods, and waterways. Ingrid currently serves as HistoryMiami Museum’s Coordinator of Education Programs and Community Engagement and has been with the museum for over 10 years.

We recommend bringing a water bottle, wearing light clothing, bug spray, and comfortable shoes for walking. Please bring a flashlight, as the cemetery will be dark after sunset. Restrooms are available onsite at the cemetery. All are welcome to come as you are or in costume!
Upon arrival to the Miami City Cemetery, please check-in with Museum staff. The check-in table will be located near the Burdine crypt. Please enter the cemetery through the entrance on NE 2nd Avenue.
There is limited parking available inside the cemetery along the driveway. If you prefer to park outside of the cemetery, there is a lot just north of the cemetery, across the street from Temple Israel off NE 19th Street. Should the lot be full, there is street parking available in the neighborhood.
The tour will take place on grassy and uneven terrain.
