Gamebred Youth & Families: KIPP Liberty Photovoice

Photovoice is a collaboration between Gamebred Youth, Black Men Build and the students and staff of Kipp Liberty Academy in Miami, FL.  The project consisted of a 12-week workshop where students worked alongside resident artists to learn the basics of photography composition and use 35mm disposable Kodak cameras to capture imagery of their subject choice.

The project is designed to empower youth by fostering a space where visual imagery, writing, and other forms of mixed media are used as a medium to communicate stories, ideas and feelings about themselves and their interests, as well as life in their surrounding communities.
