Tropical Dreams: A People’s History of South Florida

Saturdays at 11:00 a.m.
Take a guided tour of the Museum’s core exhibition, “Tropical Dreams: A People’s History of South Florida.” Your visit will cover the birth of Miami, pre-Columbian civilizations, and South Florida pioneer life. Tours differ each day based on the Museum educator’s background knowledge and areas of interest. Tour is approximately 40 minutes.

We invite you to join a highlights tour of our exhibition It’s a Miami Thing: Highlights from Our Collection. Hear stories about the objects that document the uniqueness of our city. Tour is approximately 40 minutes long. This exhibition ends on Sunday, August 21.

Capture: A Portrait of a Pandemic

Enjoy a highlights tour of our newest exhibition Capture: A Portrait of the Pandemic a visual representation of experiences and attitudes resulting from the life-altering year of 2020, when our community struggled with the realities of a pandemic, racial injustice protests, homelessness, and an entertainment industry on the brink of implosion. Tour is approximately 40 minutes long.

Documentary Film – PIVOT: A 2020 Story by Rahsaan “FLY GUY” Alexander
Starting on Saturday, August 27

A 38-minute independent short documentary film that chronicles the journey of Rahsaan “FLY GUY” Alexander from his formative years as a young entrepreneur up to his evolution into becoming one of Miami’s top entertainers; drastically impacted by the on-set of the 2020 Coronavirus Pandemic. On view Saturdays and Sundays, scheduled to start at the top of the hour during the museum’s business hours.
