Nail Art: A Cultural Expression
Folklife Gallery
December 5, 2025 - April 26, 2026
Dive into the colorful world of nail art culture through the creative eyes and skilled hands of world-renown nail artist and HistoryMiami’s artist-in-residence, Kro Vargas. With artifacts, photos, and videos, the exhibit follows her artistic journey, featuring her first design board from her beginnings at Beauty School of America on Calle Ocho, the “Fiji Nails” design that propelled her onto the nail art scene, and three boundary-pushing nail sets custom made by Kro for the exhibit. Take in the breadth and versatility of her work through photos and publications featuring her creations, including books, magazines, and album covers. Be amazed while you watch a video compilation of Kro at work, as her bold, multi-dimensional designs come to life before your eyes.
The exhibit will be on display in HistoryMiami Museum’s Folklife Gallery, a space for celebrating local traditional culture and artistic practices.
