Cultural Encounter: Discover Jai-Alai at The Casino at Dania Beach Fronton

Join us as we explore cultural traditions that are “so Miami.” Meet the artisans and experts whose crafts, skills, and services make Miami, Miami during these intimate, one-of-a-kind experiences.   Discover Jai-Alai at The Casino at Dania Beach Fronton Immerse yourself in jai-alai, described as the fastest ballgame in the world! Jai-alai is a centuries-old sport from the Basque Country of Spain and France with a rich history in South Florida. During this one-of-a-kind experience, you will not only watch this exciting sport, but go behind-the-scenes at the Casino at Dania Beach fronton (jai-alai arena). Guided by former star player and current Jai-Alai Operations Manager Benny Bueno, participants will meet players and tour the locker room. Hear from traditional artisans, such as the cesta (curved basket) and pelota (ball) repair staff, who keep the game going. You can event get a feel for the sport by stepping onto the court to catch and throw a ball using professional equipment. The program begins at 2:30 PM, but you may start your visit at 1:00 PM when the matinee matches begin. This program will conclude between 4:30 PM and 5:00 PM, depending on when the games are finished. Feel free to stay afterwards and enjoy the gaming, dining, and entertainment offerings at the casino!   Space is limited. Registration required. Must be 21 years or older to participate. Participants must wear masks for the duration of the program. Location: The Casino at Dania Beach, 301 E Dania Beach Blvd, Dania Beach, FL 33004
