HistoryMiami Museum will host its inaugural History Icons Awards Luncheon at the iconic Joe’s Stone Crab.

The History Icon Award honors exceptional individuals, families, and organizations whose groundbreaking contributions have left an indelible mark on the Miami community. These honorees are the trailblazers, the visionaries, and the changemakers who have not only enriched Miami’s past but continue to shape its future. With a deep commitment to preserving and celebrating our shared history, this award recognizes transformative efforts that have redefined the cultural, social, and economic landscape of the city. Whether through innovation, leadership, philanthropy, or tireless dedication to progress, recipients of the History Icon Award stand as pillars of Miami’s legacy. Through their achievements, they embody the spirit of Miami—bold, diverse, and forward-thinking—driving the ongoing growth and betterment of our community.

Legacy Award: Honors a family or organization’s longstanding contributions and historical significance in shaping Miami.

Innovation Award: Highlights groundbreaking ideas or initiatives that have contributed to Miami’s growth and identity.

Education Award: Acknowledges an organization’s commitment to advancing educational opportunities in Miami and promoting understanding of the city’s diverse heritage.

Dr. Dorothy Jenkins Fields
Preservation Award: Honors exemplary efforts in preserving and conserving Miami’s historical artifacts, sites, or narratives, contributing to the museum’s collections and enhancing public awareness of the city’s heritage.

Leadership Award: Pays tribute to someone who has made a lasting impact on Miami’s cultural and historical fabric. Celebrates their legacy of service, vision and dedication ensuring their memory continues to inspire the community.
