Explore the history of Miami Shores with City Tours Guide, John Bachay. Once advertised as “America’s Mediterranean,” this village on the bay is home to architectural gems that speak to the area’s boom period construction. View homes that are locally and nationally designated historic landmarks. Enjoy a special look inside of one of the historic buildings in the neighborhood.

Tour will include a visit to Brockway Memorial Library. Ticket includes complimentary family pass to HistoryMiami Museum.

John Bachay
City Tours Guide

John is a native of Wisconsin but has resided in the Miami area for over 40 years. He has an undergraduate degree in history and has been involved with non-profit preservation organizations in Miami, Miami Beach and Miami Shores both as a tour guide and board member. He is known for conducting Art Deco and MiMo tours as well as telling bad jokes to tour attendees from all over the globe.

We recommend bringing a water bottle, wearing light clothing, and comfortable shoes for walking. Additional considerations may include: bringing an umbrella and wearing sun protection.
Please meet Museum staff for check-in between 9:30 am – 9:55 am. They will be waiting for you in front of the library’s entrance.
There is parking available at Brockway Memorial Library. Street parking may also be available.
The tour will take place on paved sidewalks that may include uneven terrain.
